Paper Mate

Paper Mate pens were born in 1949 when the Frawley Pen Company developed a revolutionary ink that dried quickly. Innovation continued into 1969, with the debut of the Powerpoint refill, which could write at any angle – even upside down. After more than 10 years of research, the Erasermate launched in 1979 as the first erasable pen, which could also write at any angle. One of the first rubberized pens, Flexgrip, debuted in 1987, dominating its market segment into the 1990s. In 2001, Paper Mate launched the first pen with Supersmooth ink, an advanced ink technology that combines the smoothness of a rollerball with the functionality of a ballpen.
